Brian Kavanagh, Horseracing Ireland, Chairman SHORT BACKGROUND Represent Europe and Mediterranean countries before IFHA and to form a regional base For developed countries to support developing countries Promote horseracing and defend integrity and prestige Develop relations among European and Mediterranean horseracing authorities Objectives

UPDATE 21 members in Europe and Mediterranean countries Annual Meetings in Cologne 2011 and Rome 2012 Ex Co Meetings in Ascot 2011 and Waregem, Belgium 2012 Ex Co assisted first by Aki Akitani, JRA/France Galop, then Richard Wayman, BHA and now Paull Khan, Weatherbys as Secretary General

COOPERATION EMHF has agreed to become a member of the European Horse Network EMHF has established links with EARS, the European Association of Racing Schools

In August 2011 EMHF organised a seminar for members, a handicapping seminar hosted by the Direktorium in Baden Baden. 21 people participated. Chief presentation made by Phil Smith, Head of Handicapping in Britain. In April 2012 a two day training seminar for racecourse officials, hosted by BHA, was carried out.
