IDEAS I Researched Games Tables I liked these designs in part I decided to mesh the designs into something I liked and also could work with. (

Drawing Ideas I combined the designs I researched I did not like the round top so I changed it to a rectangle shape

Idea Advancing Idea Advancing After analysing my current design I realised that the leg design was too complicated So for the sake of time I changed the legs to a design that was still nice but could be done in time allocated

Final Design Final Design I decided to turn the legs I also went with two small drawers on the sides of the table.

I put together a cutting list and cut out all of my wood needed to make my table. I had to laminate wood together for the legs. I then cut my pieces to size and labelled them. When the had set I planed them to size.

I cut out the mortises on the legs first Then I turned the first leg and used it as guide when I turned the rest. I used the calibres to find the depth at each main turning point.

Once the legs where sanded ready for finishing I cut the tenons on the four sides of the table. I then proceeded to cut out the opening on the tables sides for the drawers.

I put the table together dry at this stage to check measurements. I fitted the backgammon sides and the drawer sides. Next I drilled the dowel holes for theses sides, and the using dowel markers to mark the corresponding holes.

I screwed the runners onto the drawer guides. I the clamped the table first dry and then proceeded to glue it. I checked for squareness and once satisfied went onto marking out my drawers

I marked out only the front of one side and the back of another as I will cut the four sides together I used the gauge to mark the shoulders and pared them individually

Once the sides were fully done I marked the fronts and backs off the sides This is currently the stage I am at in the manufacture process. I will cut out the joints on the back and front and the cut out the groove for the base. I will then glue the drawers together.

I have to put two coats of sanding sealer onto the main body of my table before the break. After the break we will finish the table with a lacquer

The End Thank you for listening Any Questions
