Life As Maya Angelou Maya Angelou, born April 4,1920 as Marguerite Johnson in St. Louis. Dr. Angelou speaks four different languages and has a career in dance. She lectures throughout the US and abroad is Reynolds professor of American Studies at Wake Forest University in North Carolina since Angelou’s has many great accomplishments worldwide.

A Woman of Power Maya Angelou is a very strong black women. She is a wonderful poet and a great inspiration. She gives a good example of how black women should strive to be the best that they can be.

A Woman with no Shame Angelou was never afraid to talk about her past. Maya’s received many awards for her great accomplishments. She will always know who she is and where she came from.

In Conclusion.. I found Maya Angelou to be very inspirational in my life. She constantly encourages everyone to strive to the best they can be. She also strongly supports her black heritage. I admire that she was the first female poet to give a reading at a Presidential Inauguration.
