The heroes of the people that go to Northglenn High School.

Barack Obama, an inspiring candidate for the United States of America’s presidential race of 2008. He represents more than just the democratic nominee, he represents pursuing a dream even when the odds are against you. He is my hero because he is showing a change in history, progress, and standing for something he believes in.

Oprah Winfrey is a great woman. She has many great life accomplishments. She was raised in lower class and overcame many obstacles to succeed and end up where she is now. She has done many things in her lifetime to affect my life. She is an amazing woman.

Through out Martin Luther King Jr’s lifetime, he fought for equality and peace, and eventually died for that. His intentions were great and he impacted history so greatly. He has changed every life to follow his lifetime in this country, and through his speeches, even after his death, he still teaches many human beings peace and gives people examples and reasons to fight for equality.

Maya Angelou was not only a major figure in the American Civil Rights Movement, but she was also a beautiful poet, memoirist, and actress. She has been Awarded over 30 honorary degrees, and was even asked to recite her poem at former President Bill Clinton’s inauguration. She has nominated for many awards such as the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award. She is a great woman the I truly respect for her struggles and accomplishments.
