Temporary colours The Positives: Great to pick up or lift your normal colour. You can slightly vary your normal colour (depending on how dark you are) and get rid of the effect the next time you shampoo.shampoo They can keep more that more expensive colour looking good for just that little longer before you are able to visit the hairdresser again. They are very cheap. Can't damage your hair. The Negatives: Not effective on dark hair Colour change is very subtle. If you are blonde they can build up and last longer than you want. If you have highly damaged blonde hair be very careful as they can grab to bits of your hair and not wash out! They won't cover grey hair but will disguise it. Most of the wash-in wash out products are in the form of shampoos and mousses and tone various colours of hair. For example for grey hair there are silver/blue based ones, which will make the hair look whiter and less yellow. There are also several sprays and other fun products for parties that will temporarily change your hair colour.hair colour These are temporary colour boosters or grey hair toners that enhance the colour you have and will not work to change your colour.

Semi-Permanent colour is terrific for hair-colour first-timers. It washes out in 6 to 12 shampoos, contains no potentially damaging peroxide or ammonia, and, once its gone, leaves your hair the same colour as it was before being coloured. This means you can experiment with shades until you find one you want to use consistently. Because of its gentle nature, however, semi- permanent colour can't change things very dramatically It has a slightly translucent quality that makes it better suited to enhancing rather than altering your natural colour. How does semi permanent hair colour fade? Shampooing loosens their pigment molecules, causing colour to progressively diminish until all the molecules are gone. Because of this, you will never experience tell-tale roots with semi permanent colour.

Permanent Hair Colour usually contains some amount of ammonia is mixed with an activator (developer) activator fully lifts the cuticle of the hair and removes natural pigment, even when going from light hair to dark hair while cuticle is lifted permanent colour is deposited under the cuticle and inside the cortex of the hair shaft after the colour is activated, the cuticle closes and the colour stays inside which gives the hair its new colour permanent colour is essential in going lighter, covering grey and intensifying toneasts permanently but will start to fade anywhere from 3-8 weeks permanent colour is usually maintained with either more permanent colour over top, or a to refresh the colour with less processing example: Wella Knowing the options in hair colour will help salon clients choose the right type for their wants and needs. Understanding what is available at the salon will ensure the client and stylist are speaking the same language when discussing colour choices.Wella

What a perm can do: Perms can be used to create a bend, curl or even to loosen curl for those people who have naturally tight curls. The image of the eighties "tight perm" or the "granny/woolly head" look is hopefully disappearing forever. You can now get a "perm" that will do nothing more than give your hair some volume, direct it in a certain way or prevent it from making a parting where you don't want one. The type of curl effect you can get varies depending on what the hair is moulded around during the perming process. Normally this is a curler but some hairdressers will use anything from a pipe cleaner for a really tight curl, to a "bendy" stick for a spiral effect. Yes, we are about to suggest a consultation again as it's all down to the skill of the hairdresser and the suitability of your hair. Be prepared to have your hair cut when it is permed. This is good for two reasons; out of condition ends can frizz and look dry, doing your new look no justice or be in too poor a condition to perm. Secondly the shape of cut that worked for straighter hair will not work for curly hair in achieving the effect you want. It is important to get your hairdresser to show you the effect your perm will have on the length of your hair if this concerns you. Hair that has a curl to it can appear much shorter than straight hair of the same length.

Quasi colour last longer than a semi but it is not permanent it last up to 48 washes and you don’t get any re-growth when using this colour. A quasi colour covers grey whilst keeping a natural look. Quasi colour contains ethanolamine and 3% peroxide, which slightly opens the cuticle. This means that the colour can last up to 20 washes and will softly fade and you shampoo causing no re-growth problem.
