Task one When I went two the salons that we visited . Hair by mp super trims They both used paper and pen this is good because it would be cheaper for them or they might not have enough money to buy a computer . And it could be faster and much easier for them . Also they might not have enough space for a computer . And a book can just get put under the till some where .

Task two When we went in to Super trims Hair by mp On the first desk when you walk in there was business cards so you can get in touch with them . And there was price lists and there was products that you can buy . Also the service that you can get done to your hair . There were pictures all over the salon.

Task two Nikki What facilities are provided in the reception for customers waiting for services or treatments ? Business cards, services that they had, pictures all over the salon. Are there displays in the reception area describing services and products ? Yes there was pictures all over the salon and they has shampoos what they were selling . How are they displayed : on the walls and on the windows and shelves . List range of products available in the reception area : shampoos and serums and hair straighter . Are there any brochures , handbills or business cards you could collect ? Yes there is business card on the front desk , also brochures on a side desk . How do the salon record appointments , why do they choose this method ?they used pen and book for this. They thought it was cheaper also better and faster to do .

It was too small you couldn’t move in it. How does the salon you visit record appointments ? Computer or paper. Where are the customer record cards stored ? On the computer.

Task three Personal Experiences When I walked in to the salon I was welcomed by a smile happy women who asked if I wonted a drink or a magazine . And started talking about what I was getting done to my hair there . I felt so welcome when I was there . What I expect to see is nicely designed and nice waiting area with magazine and refreshments and a person at the reception all the time .

Task six Dealing with Clients in Reception A client enters the reception she wants to enquire about the services the salon offers at the same time the telephone starts to ring : Tell the client politely that I need to take that call . You are booking an appointment for a client by telephone and the retail stock arrives , the delivery man needs a signature : Ask another member off staff to sign for delivery or ask politely hold on the phone. A client telephones to make an appointment to make an appointment and would like to know the price of the service she is booked in for . You are not sure about the price and need to speak to a member off staff in the salon . The staff are really busy and you may not be able to get a price immediately for her : say to her if you would like to leave your number I would get back to you as soon as possible

Reports A lot of salons have the choose of computers via email or a book with pen . With is located on the reception desk to book appointments or cancel them . Some salons have websites where you can find the information or new deals at the salon . Also a lot of salons have them on there windows at there shop . The different types of salons usually have posters of very stylish modern hairstyles around the salon also there would be a sitting area so that customers can sit and read magazine or magazines, some hairdressing salons have toys for young children to play with while they are waiting . Usually the products on sale will be displayed in stands around the room and these products would more likely be ( Wella or tresemme) .

Report They also usually give out refreshments and would make the customer a cup of tea/coffee if they wish, on the reception desk there will be appointment cards to pick up the salons treatment prices list also sometimes there will be a products list that people can buy.
