What are the key components of a token economy that need to be explained to our school community? Why is it important for our school to implement a token economy? Who are the key partners who need to be involved in this process? How will information on this communication plan be discussed? When? Key Questions

What is a token economy? A token economy is a system of behavior modification based on the reinforcement of target behaviors. Reinforcements such as “tokens” or “bucks” can be exchanged for other rewards. Why use a token economy? Token economies help students to visualize their progress, work for a reward, self-monitor, and regulate their behavior. Year 2: Token Economy
