PowerPoint Tutorial and Assignment 2 Use the rubric as a guide

Topics covered in this assignment: ❖ Lists (numbered and bulleted) ❖ Stacked text ❖ Shapes ❖ Slide templates ❖ Smart Art ❖ Charts ❖ WordArt ❖ Clip Art ❖ Slide Show Animation

1.0 Powerpoint and Word share many of the same attributes. Much of what you learn in one transfers to the other. ●This assignment looks at several of the options available under the menus on PowerPoint. ●The theme for the tutorial is a Bucket List---things you want to do. ●You should make up your own content for each slide and modify the options (Don’t use the same choice made in the tutorial).

2.0 Create a title slide. ●In the Font area you can change the font color (Remember you should not choose red and blue—choose different colors)

3.0 Add a slide with a list of things you want to do. ●This list used the “enumerated” list choice of Roman Numerals. ●There is also a bulleted list. ●Remember you can’t use Roman Numerals—choose another option

4.0 Added stacked text and a shape.

5.0 Add a two content slide ●Each slide allows ●Table, Chart, Smart Graphic, Pictures, Online Pictures, or Video ●Choose two

5.1 Smart Art Graphic ●Several choices are available.

5.2 Online Pictures ●Try out the options above.

6.0 Insert a Chart

6.1 Choose the style ●Try the “table style options”

6.3 Choose a chart type

6.2 Input some data.

6.4 Add information for the chart

●7.7 Play with the effects.

●7.8 Search for another image, this time from the web

7.9 Choose one

7.10 Go to the animation menu

7.11 Choose an object (the WordArt) ●Choose an animation ●The result shows up in the script

7.12 The script is longer ●You can set times for starting, duration, and delay.

8.0 Return to the first slide ●Add a transition ●Add a time to advance the slide (set to 3 seconds for grading) ●Choose a sound

●After you have completed the transitions, test the presentation making sure you are happy with the result ●Turn in the assignment.
