Note: Tracker and AB are paid for by state. LEA can purchase CC. Three primary outcomes will drive the work of the SLDS grant. SLDS Current Highlights…. Requirements definition via inquiry from schools and districts, vendors and other states, associations and department staff. Definition and procurement of social networking infrastructures. Expansion of P+ data store. RFP process for trainers and technology development. 4 RFP for technology development. Integration of Special Education common data. Determination of business needs. Collaboration with postsecondary agencies and SIS vendors. Expansion of BOY data collection. Definition of early warning requirements via schools and districts. Work has begun, although funds are not available until September 15 th -- shhhh. What Drives the Data Environment… 6 Data systems must be able to address multiple perspectives and multiple levels of competency: The teacher’s perspective, the administrator’s perspective, the specialist, the district, the policy maker, the researcher, reporting requirements, etc.

Performance plus: Student Level Data 10 PerformancePLUS provides secure student level data to the teachers and educators.

Longitudinal reports 11 Longitudinal Reports provide easy access to predefined aggregate reports.

NARS (Detailed NECAP Reports) 13 Secure student level NECAP data available to districts, maintained by Measured Progress.

A Closer Look – New P+ Reporting Engine Longitudinal Reports Performance PLUS 21 Longitudinal reports provide quick and easy access to extensive aggregate trends. PerformancePLUS provides detailed student level access to custom reports and detailed student learning.

Performance plus: Breadth and Depth 22 P+ Enables multiple assessments, creation of local assessments, detailed analysis of student progress, history over time, extensive student attributes (e.g. 21 st Century, CaTE, Attendance, College Enrollment, Assessments, SAT, course schedule, etc.).

How are districts using P+…. 1.Performance Tracker – Extensive Reports – Item Level Detail – Student History – Individual Learning Plans – RTI 23 2.Assessment Builder – State and National Assessments – Item Bank – Online Assessments – Mapping to Standards – Local Benchmark Assessments – CaTE and Survey Style Assessments 3.Curriculum Connector – Curriculum Bank – Curriculum Mapping – Connection from Map to Assessment to Reports Note: Tracker and AB are paid for by state. P+ and EIS Model EIS could allow you to view your teachers in a school, view and track evaluation cycle, view and track progress and schedule to complete review. SLDS Grant -- The Evaluation of Effective Teachers Force of Effective Teaching 30 P+ would allow you to review student growth on NECAP as well as other national and local assessments, parent surveys, etc. The grant proposed building upon existing systems, but we can certainly recommend other options if they provide greater benefit to schools and districts.

Questions – Your Input!!! What are you using to track evaluation status? What are you using to track completion of evaluation components (e.g. completion of classroom observation, growth reports, etc.)? What are you using to identify student growth results? Do you need tools to manage class-room observations, and other Charlotte Danielson domains? Where do you see the biggest need for data system support? Would you be interested in being part of an advisory group to help define these tools and support? If not on the advisory committee, do you have staff that work with data who would like to share their best practices? Other comments, suggestions.
