can be easy !!

68 x 4 We are going to multiply 68 by 4.

68 x 4 First, we multiply the ones place together. 4 x 8 =??

68 x 4 Take the 2 ones and put them in the one’s place, under the line. 4 x 8 =32 2

68 x 4 Put the 3 from 32 over the 6 in the ten’s place. ( it’s a reminder to add it later ) 2 3

68 x 4 Now, let’s multiply 4 x x6=?? We will pretend its 4x6.

Add =27 4 x 6 =24 68 x Where is that 27 going to be placed? ???

68 x As it is really 270, the 7 belongs in the ten’s place. 7 And the 2 belongs in the hundred’s place. 2

68 x So, 4 x 68 = 272. How do we know ? Let’s find out!

68 x How about estimation ? Round 68 to the nearest ten. Is the nearest ten 60 or 70 ?

68 rounds UP to x x 4 Keep the 4 as it is

Multiply 4 x x x Are they close ?

We can assume our answer is probably correct. Check your multiplication one more time and then celebrate. Yes they are!

Soooo…...

can be easy !!
