Research Methodology How the study was conducted; what did and how you did it. 1- Participants/ subjects, who participated in the study? How many? How were they selected? 2- Materials, briefly describe the materials. 3- Procedure, summarizes each step in the execution of the study; describe formation groups, randomization.

Types of Research Methodologies  Causal-Comparative Research attempts to discover possible causes for the phenomenon being studied by comparing subjects.  Correlation Research attempts to discover or clarify relationships between variables through the use of correlation coefficients.  Relationship Research describes relationships between variables.  Predictive Research predicts scores on a variable from subjects’ scores on another variable or variables.

Evaluation Research attempts to make judgments about the merit, value, or worth of educational programs, projects, materials, and techniques. Experimental Research manipulates a treatment variable in order to establish cause-and-effect relationships between two or more variables to test theories concerning causal relationships Historical Research examines documents and other sources in order to achieve better understanding of present institutions, practices, and problems Observational Research uses naturalistic observations in order to describe specified phenomena Survey Research uses survey methods in order to describe relationships, effects of treatments, longitudinal changes, and comparisons between groups
