A Steering Board for the MPE Projects A Steering Board will help to define and steer the MPE projects through, from start to completion. The Steering Board will provide support, guidance and oversight of progress. It will be made up of MPE experts who have the most of experience and expertise. Members should not work directly on the project themselves and are not directly responsible for managing project activities, but provide support and guidance for those who do. The first responsibility of the Steering Board is the achievement of the project’s success. 11/12/15 TE-MPE Annual Meeting3

The members of Steering Board The core members: SLs, Bruno, Knud, Ruediger and Andrzej The Project Leaders will normally attend all relevant meetings of the Steering Board to report on progress and answer any questions raised by Steering Board members. 11/12/15 TE-MPE Annual Meeting4

Numerous projects are emerging within the MPE mandate To reach our goals within these projects we have to: Introduce during 2016 strict “Project Management” practices Improve working methods and work environment to be compliant with safety critical system development and design and production of high quality electronics and hardware In our group we have a good balance between the R&D activities and a bit more “routine” work for LHC operations Closing Remarks 11/12/15 TE-MPE Annual Meeting5

Remarkable performance of LHC running at 6.5 TeV in 2015 was possible, to large extend, thanks to MPE teams. Excellent collaboration of MPE members with other TE groups and BE-OP for solving the issues during the LHC restart after LS1. Running of LHC during 2016 with high availability of our systems and efficient support to operations will be at top priority. Closing Remarks 11/12/15 TE-MPE Annual Meeting6

The LHC restart and successful physics run in 2015 would not be possible without a team of dedicated MPE experts Big, big thank you to all of you for a job well done!! All section crews Stefanie and her “6 th floor” colleagues Lisette, Lisa, Georgina, Mariane and Brigitte 11/12/15 TE-MPE Annual Meeting7 Final remarks

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES 11/12/15 TE-MPE Annual Meeting8
