Timer Alarm

What Is The Timer Alarm? The Timer Alarm provides a method for triggering time- based alarms during script playback.

How Am I Notified? The eValid Timer Alarm interfaces with a server side script that resides on a WebServer. This server side script can be programmed to specific people or even to interface with a database.

How Is An eValid Timer Alarm Set? Step 1 of 5 Begin by selecting Record > Start Recording.

Record Timer Step 2 of 5 At the point where you would like to initiate an alarm, select Record > Timer > Read Timer to read the test time into the message log.

Set Timer Alarm Step 3 of 5 Use Record > Timer > Set Alarm to enter the Set Alarm dialog.

Set Timer Alarm Parameters? Step 4 of 5 Enter in the parameters of the alarm. Please see the Timer Alarm documentation on the eValid WebSite for detailed information.

Timer Alarm Sample Script Step 5 of 5 The resulting script file will have an OvertimeAlarm command with the parameters that were specified in the Set Timer dialog box.

The Timer Alarm option can be set to execute two different ways: Execute Alarm at a specific point in the script: - eValid will compare the alarm threshold from the time that the script began. If the threshold has been exceeded, an alarm will be issued. How Is An eValid Timer Alarm Set? Alarm Notes 1

- eValid will compare the alarm threshold from the time that the last Record > Timer > Reset Timer command was issued. If the threshold has been exceeded, an alarm will be issued. How Is An eValid Timer Alarm Set? Alarm Notes 2 Execute Alarm at a specific point in the script from the previous Reset Timer:

To get accurate timing data, we recommend repeating the page retrieval at least 10 times. This will make it possible to average out Web latencies. Here is how the script appears, ready to be run. Avoid Web Latencies
