EMERGENCY SITUATIONS SKIDS Emergency Stops Running off the pavement Car Fires, Electrical wires Plunging into Water Hood Latch Failure Wind shield wiper failure Tire blow outs

SKIDS Take your foot off the gas immediately This slows the car down Turn steering wheel in the direction the rear of the car is going This will prevent the car from spinning Try not to over steer

RUNNING OFF THE PAVEMENT Maintain control of the steering wheel Slow down gradually Turn back onto the pavement when slowly and when clear

Emergency Stops Signal Drive to Shoulder at or near the speed of traffic Slow down gradually Hazard lights on Headlights off Use emergency warning devices Stay away from the vehicle if possible
