Peer Grading on Lab Activities If I correct you for goggles or staying on task ONE time = 3.75 If I see you off task; wandering to other groups (no 4) If you are on your phones (no 4) The sheets are confidential and 4 should be hard to obtain Make sure you are also keeping track of what everyone is accomplishing so you can justify your responses to the grading I will not accept your sheet if you do not have your group member’s names on them.

Update your TOC Call Activity: Density Learning Target: I can explain the concept of density

DENSITY Lab safety http://www.teachertube.com/video/science-lab-safety- video-rap-194405 Get into your groups at a table first Lab Roles within the group In your groups of four divide into pairs One pair will see what sinks and floats with solid/liquid One pair will see what sinks and floats with both liquids Decide on roles Create a table with your hypothesis

Materials Solids: Hex nut Chalk Lego Paper clip Pencil Cork Nail Rock Liquids: Corn oil Corn Syrup Baby Oil Isopropyl Alcohol DI Water

Create two tables: Liquid v Solid Corn Oil Corn syrup Baby Oil Iso Alcohol DI Water Nut Chalk Float Lego Paper clip Sink Pencil Cork Nail Rock

Create two tables: Liquid V Liquid Corn Oil Corn syrup Baby Oil Iso Alcohol DI Water Corn Syrup Syrup bottom? Baby oil Corn Syrup

With your lab group test your hypothesis You need an identical tables from yesterday as you will be determining which solids and liquids sink and which will float Once finished start planning out your density column Begin testing and writing procedures for your successful column no nasty turkey sandwich procedures as you will not be performing these procedures RECORDER: once you have a successful set of procedures you must copy them down on a separate sheet of paper for the other group (and me) be sure that everyone has it all recorded in their own NB

Your Goal With the materials provided you will create a density column.
