Introduction to Co-teaching Co-teaching, Part 1 Co-teaching, Part 2 Click on the videos below from the Maryland Learning Link to have a general view of co-teaching and to find quick answers to some of the questions we all have about this method of instruction.
Co-Teaching Articles Go to the module 2 page and click on “Module 2 Documents” to access and read the two articles about Co-teaching. After reading the articles, come back to the PowerPoint presentation.
Task 1: Reflective Essay (300 words minimum) Write a BRIEF description of the article you read providing your thoughts on at least two co-teaching models with which you would feel more comfortable. What did you learn about research on co-teaching? Connect your thoughts and feelings to the article. What are your fears for co-teaching?
Co-teaching Videos Go to the module 2 page and click on “Module 2 Videos” to access the videos on co-teaching at B. F. Grady and N. D. Elementary. You may want to take notes for you will be required to write a comparative essay.
Task 2: Comparative Essay (500 words) Write a compare/contrast paragraph on the two videos. Identify which co-teaching model is used at each school. Use the co-teaching articles as reference. If you agreed on co-teaching, what role would you/partner play? What co-teaching model would you be interested in trying? Why? After the completion of this workshop, are you more likely to co-teach? Why/Why not?
