What is the CROP tool?  Cropping is changing the composition of an image by removing areas of the width and/or height.  Shortcut: C

What is a CROP?

How do I use the CROP tool?  Marquee around the area of the image you want to keep.  The crop tool will display a shaded area and grid to help you visual the new composition.  Adjust handles as needed. Hit ENTER to apply.

How else can I change the canvas size?  IMAGE menu  CANVAS SIZE  Type in the size the new canvas should be.  Use the ANCHOR to position your image relative to the new canvas.

EXERCISE: 1. Open 28-Liberty.jpg 2. Color correct the image. 3. Extend the canvas by 2” on the top. Make the canvas extension color WHITE. 4. Select the white with the magic wand tool. 5. EDIT menu  FILL 6. Fill with CONTENT AWARE. 7. Crop out the base and straighten. 8. Save as: yourname_liberty.jpg
