Introduction The landmarks in China are good places to see because they are beautiful and a lot of people go there. The landmarks are important to China.

Great Wall of China The Great Wall is about 4,500 miles long. Because it is about 2,000 years old, some parts are damaged or broken. It is a very popular attraction in the world. The wall separated two cultures for over 2,000 years. They started to build the wall in the 7 th century. The wall had watchtowers with cannons.

Mountains The Himalaya Mountain Range is the tallest mountain range ever. The Himalayas covers 612,021 square kilometers. Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world. Everest stands 29,028 feet high from sea level.

Forbidden City The Forbidden City is in the heart of Beijing. The Forbidden City is known as the imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. It covered 720,000 square meters. It is the largest wooden building in the world. It has 980 buildings with 9,999 rooms.

Qin Terracotta Army The clay Terra Cotta Warriors and horses are the most significant archeological site in the 20 th century. They protect the tomb of the first emperor Quin Shi Huang. It was built in about 240 BC and it took eleven years to complete it. Peasants dug up the tomb in 1974 and the government decided to make it a museum in The museum covers 16,300 square meters.
