SETTING: WHEN AND WHERE THE STORY TAKES PLACE Add a picture that you think shows the setting of your story.

Setting: When Describe when the story takes place. Is it in the future? The present?

Setting: Where Where does it take place? What country? Does it take place outside, or inside? What is the weather like?

Background What does the audience need to know to understand the story? Are there talking animals? Does magic exist?

CHARACTERS Add a picture that shows what you think your main character looks like. If you are writing about an imaginary animal, find a picture that is as close as possible!

Main Character/Protagonist Describe your main character. You should include physical appearance, age, and personality.

Supporting Character #1 Describe your supporting character. This may be the antagonist (villain), or a friend. Include physical appearance, age, and personality.

Antagonist Who is the bad guy?

Conflict/Problem Here describe the main conflict or problem in your story. Is it person against person? Person against self? Person against nature? Person against society?

PARTS OF A STORY Here insert a picture that show an event or moment in your story.

Exposition/Initiating Event Exposition means the beginning of the story. Here, describe how your setting, characters, and problem are set up.

Rising Action Rising action means the events that occur before the climax. What happens that leads up to the main event?

Climax Describe the climax of your story. The conflict or problem in the story should be the most intense here, and should get resolved.

Falling Action The falling action includes any events that happen after the climax, and may include the problem being resolved.

Resolution The resolution is the end of the story: how did it all turn out? Did everyone live happily ever after? Did you get turned back into a human?

Theme What is the message or lesson this fairy tale is trying to convey? The triumph of the poor? Cleverness pays off? Kindness is rewarded? Love conquers all? (There are more).

Allusion How has your fairy tale influence modern culture?
