You’re right …it’s a humming bird. You will learn about the hummingbird’s physical characteristics habitat, and adaptations in this report.

Physical Characteristics This is what the humming bird looks like. The tongue helps it drink nectar from a flower. The culmen is the top of the bill.Their is an upper tail coverts. Hummingbirds can fly backwards, fowrard, upwards, and hover. If you go to south America and see the physical characteristics of a hummingbird I bet you will think they are interesting.

Habitat Another interesting topic is the hummingbird’s habitat.most hummingbirds live in south America. Many hummingbirds love the habit of wooded areas that have lots of flowers. If you love the humming birds habitat then you will love the hummingbirds adaptations.

Adaptations Now you will learn about the hummingbirds adaptations. A hummingbird can turn its wings in any direction. This can help by flying away. For example if a squirrel is in front of it, flies backwards. The front half of the tongue is split and has fringed edges so it can drink nectar. The curved beak allows it to drink the nectar located deep in cupped flowers. When it is cold or the food is low, humming birds go into torpor. Torpor is a very deep sleep. Now you know all about the humming birds adaptations.

Conclusion Isn’t the humming bird an amazing animal? I hope you have learned many interesting facts about the humming birds physical characteristics, habit, and adaptations. If you want to learn more, I hope you will research the hummingbird like I did.
