LATITUDES & LONGITUDES

1.Latitudes & Longitudes are used to find places on a globe. 2. Apart from that globes are also used to plan long distance sea & air routes called Great Circle Routes. 3.They are also used to determine the routes of satellites.

The Earth is tilted at an angle of 23 ½ degree to the vertical.

Relative & Absolute location The Relative location of a point on the Earth’s surface is its location in relation to another place or nearby landmark. The Absolute location of a place is its location using a recognised coordinate system formed by latitudes and longitudes.

There are 181 degree latitudes
