To improve the delivery of health care services in the Bronx, surrounding regions, and globally by providing outstanding education for undergraduate and graduate students, professionals, and employees and by collaborating with community and internationally based organizations on research and practice initiatives to develop integrated programs that lead to new interprofessional models and attract new funding sources.

 We will: ◦ Improve the health of the community and quality of life in the Bronx by partnering with schools, hospitals, social service and governmental agencies, small businesses, major corporations, and cultural and scientific institutions to ensure exceptional, cost effective health care services are delivered by interprofessional teams. ◦ Lead collaborative efforts that result in new interprofessional models that solve community and global healthcare challenges through undergraduate, graduate and professional education, research, and practice initiatives that honor the history of engaged citizenship and commitment to public service embodied by Herbert H. Lehman. ◦ Create an academic environment where passionate people thrive and excel as they contribute to the unique identity, visibility, and sustained growth of the School, College, and CUNY.

 Ethical responsibility ◦ We are guided by integrity, honesty, and justice.  Community responsibility ◦ We have compassion for every life we touch, treat all people with respect, and are committed to acting conscientiously.  Inclusivity ◦ We embrace the contributions of each department’s programs and members to build this alliance.  Diversity ◦ We acknowledge, celebrate the unique perspectives and history which will enrich the life and programs of the School and College.  Fiscal responsibility ◦ We will act in a prudent and transparent manner with regard to administrative and financial resources to benefit the growth and development of the School and College.  Commitment to excellence ◦ We will strive for excellence in all endeavors.

 Foster growth of interdisciplinary environment.  Promote academic expansion.  Maximize the distribution and administration of resources.  Lead and cultivate new affiliations to promote the mission and vision of the School.  Establish an external advisory board with thought leaders from health sciences, health care and human services, community, business, philanthropy, and government.
