Mission Statement Student Support Services (SSS) provides a multiplicity of academic support services to students with limited income, who are first generation and/or with disabilities, enabling them to persist and graduate from Wichita State University.

Serve two Hundred fifty(250) low income, first generation college and students with disabilities each grant year. OBJECTIVE 1 Excellence Evaluations Action Plans Goals

Tutor at least eighty percent (80%) of students requesting tutorial assistance; a minimum of 65% of students will achieve a C or better grade in a tutored course. OBJECTIVE 2 Enhance Learning Evaluations Action Plans Goals

Sixty-eight percent (68%) of students not eligible for graduation each year will remain enrolled and of those, 70% will achieve the minimum institutional academic standard. OBJECTIVE 3 Retain Evaluations Action Plans Goals

Each year, 70% of the seniors in all cohort groups applying for graduation will receive a baccalaureate degree. Retain Evaluations Action Plans Goals Excellence OBJECTIVE 4 Alumni & Community

Plan, organize and execute the 23rd through 27th Annual SSS Recognition Banquet and the Cultural Spring Fling to impact student development and foster a positive institutional climate conducive to the success of SSS students. Enhance Learning Evaluations Action Plans Goals OBJECTIVE 5

Award a minimum of 25 scholarships endowed by community benefactors, and other sources. Alumni & Community Evaluations Action Plans Goals OBJECTIVE 6

Complete the 23rd through 27th annual reports: The SSS-Program Quantitative and Qualitative Evaluation Report containing detailed descriptions of all program activities, outcomes, events, workshops and the completion of projects across the Program’s three components. Ninety (90) days after the Program’s Grant Year, complete the required U.S. Department of Education’s Annual Performance Report. Alumni & Community Evaluations Action Plans Goals OBJECTIVE 8

Services provided by the SSS Program to assist WSU students to persist and graduate from the university Academic advising - move into next college classification Course selection - focus on major and move towards graduation Peer Tutoring - understand coursework & improve grades Study skills development - facilitate learning & leading to excellence Scholarships - recognize excellence & build self confidence Personal counseling - foster resiliency Graduate enrollment advise - continue higher education Career counseling - obtain appropriate employment
