My name is Beatrice Williams and I have been teaching for 10 years. I went to Michigan Technological University and have a degree in Secondary Education with a Secondary Math Endorsement. I am a highly qualified teacher in the state of Arizona. I taught at a high school in Flint, MI for 8 years. This is my second year at Centennial. I have four children, ages 17, 14, 12 AND 8 years old. I look forward to a very exciting year. ABOUT ME

C OURSE O BJECTIVES Kyrene Course Name: Algebra In Algebra, instructional time focuses on the following areas: Semester 1  Expressions and Situational Graphs  Representations & Solving Linear Equations and Inequalities  Functions  Linear Models  Systems of Equations Please note: this is a Tempe Union High School course that does earn high school credit.

C OURSE O BJECTIVES Kyrene Course Name: Algebra In Algebra, instructional time focuses on the following areas: Semester 2  Statistics  Sequences  Exponents and Exponential Functions  Polynomial Expressions and Functions  Quadratics  Synthesis Please note: this is a Tempe Union High School course that does earn high school credit.

E XPECTATIONS Algebra students must maintain at least a B average throughout the Algebra course to be enrolled in Geometry in the Tempe Union High School District.

T O MAINTAIN A “B” AVERAGE, STUDENTS SHOULD : Complete daily practice assignments on time. Check practice carefully and ask questions. Study for tests/quizzes using the notes that are given and the text. To study for a math test, you must DO math! Complete projects/writing assignments as assigned. Check the student/parent portal & Ms. Noriega’s Website often!

G RADING Assessments 90% of grade Formative and Summative Assessments may include: Tests Quizzes Writing assignments/Projects Warm-Ups Exit Tickets Practice 10% of grade Practice is checked and graded by the student and randomly checked by the teacher to ensure accuracy.

H ELP IS AVAILABLE... I help students before school Mon-Fri 8:00-8:30 a.m. (This may change due to supervision schedule). Special arrangements can be made for a student that needs daily help. The District Office has a list of Kyrene Teachers who do private tutoring.
