Where do I need consent?  Newsletters, handouts, videotape, CDs, DVDs  Websites and blogs  DeltaLearns  Social Media  Other online tools such as Prezi, YouTube, Google Docs. / Drive, etc..

 Before you decide to use any online tool in the classroom you MUST conduct a risk assessment  Consider … how much control will you have over what the student can see, access, and post?  Consider … how much student information is accessible? Risk Assessment

 Consider … consent forms state I must at all times protect the privacy of students under my care. In order to protect the privacy of your child, I will guide students through the process of setting up online accounts to ensure they avoid posting personal information that could be used to identify themselves or other persons. I will also teacher them how to set all security settings to the highest levels. Risk Assessment

Consent to be kept on file until student reaches 25

 Delta School District expects that students create online accounts using First Class .  Delta School District expects teachers are monitoring student activity and information on sites.  Delta School District prefers teachers use DeltaLearns platform.  No consent needed to access First Class (10 MB) Creating accounts with online tools

 Teachers must give options for students complete learning outcomes.  Options must include non-online opportunities to demonstrate learning outcomes. No consent?
