DAY 1 Study Pathways
Every teacher of Religious Education in the Archdiocese of Brisbane requires Accreditation to Teach Religion in a Catholic School. This is a direction of the Queensland Bishops and a policy of the Queensland Catholic Education Commission.
The Religious Education Curriculum directs schools to ensure accredited teachers teach RE. Schools are required to report on accredited teachers at various points: 1.RE Validation 2.Accreditation Cycle 3.School renewal
Your accreditation certification is viewed through WSS. There are two types of Accreditation: …to teach… …to teach religion… …to teach religion (INTRIM)…
Once achieved, all Accreditation certifications require ongoing professional learning to maintain accreditation: …to teach…25 hours/5 years …to teach religion….50 hours/5years
To achieve Accreditation to Teach Religion you require 4 tertiary units in religious education, spirituality or theology.
