Our Purpose: Successful transition to QCHS and Career & College Readiness! ● To share the yearlong and daily building schedule ● To explain what courses are required for every freshman ● To provide information about available electives ● To share what sample student schedules might look like ● To explain the process for course selection

Understanding Your High School Records Transcripts Tracks all of your courses, grades and credits earned from 9 th – 12 th grade Grade Point Average (GPA) Calculation of the number of quality points earned divided by the number of credits To achieve Honor Roll, you need an unweighted 3.50 GPA (student cannot have a grade lower than a “C”) To achieve Distinguished Honor Roll, you need an unweighted 3.75 GPA (student cannot have a grade lower than a “B”)

Understanding Your High School Record, cont. Class Rank Cumulative weighted GPA generates rank for all students, high to low, in your class of 2020 for all graded courses (final grades) Students are then assigned a numerical ranking Class rank is computed at end of your sophomore year and then annually Class rank will appear on transcript

Course Weights for GPA College Prep (CP) unweighted Honors & Project Lead the Way courses Advanced Placement (AP) Note: an extra for passing (scoring 3 or better) the AP Exam e.g. an “A” would become a 4.75
