2 Graduation Requirements
**Students must complete 2 semesters of a fine art between grades 7-12

1. Pass end-of-course exams in: Algebra 1 & Geometry Biology US History & Government English 9 & 10 2. Earn “remediation-free” score on the ACT. 3. Recognized credential or state-issued license for practice in a career & a score showing workforce readiness. (Select Career Tech Programs)

TO BE PROMOTED TO 10TH GRADE: Students must earn 4 credits. You are registered for at least 6 courses during your Freshman year.

Selection criteria must be met for placement into Honors classes Students must earn an A or B in 8th grade subject classes to take College Prep classes. You will be placed in a general level class if you have a C in that subject area in 8th grade. If you earn an A or B in general level classes during the first quarter of your 9th grade year, you may request to be moved to College Prep

20 Earning College Credit
AP Courses: The Advanced Placement Program, administered by The College Board, allows students to participate in college level courses and possibly earn college credit while still in high school. Secondary schools and colleges cooperate in this program to give students the opportunity to show mastery in college-level courses by taking the AP exam in May of each school year. College Credit Plus: Eligible students can take a course and earn high school and college credit that appears on both their high school and college transcripts. All courses offered through College Credit Plus-even courses offered in the high school-must be the same course that the college offers. The course must apply to a degree or professional certificate. To be eligible, students must meet the admission standards of the participating college or university to which they apply for enrollment and test “remediation free” on a college placement test. There is no cost for the student to participate in College Credit Plus when the student is enrolled in a public college or university. Prepares students for high skill, high demand technical careers in a competitive global economy. Rigorous educational pathways emphasize math, science and technology and lead to postsecondary education. 22 NCAA Eligibility For students who may play Division I or Division II athletics in college Under the NCAA standards, students will not be eligible for collegiate athletics unless they have met GPA, standardized test score (ACT/SAT), and core course requirements. Students can begin registering with the NCAA Clearinghouse toward the end of their junior year. There is a registration fee.  Only certain LHS Courses count toward NCAA eligibility requirements For further information regarding these rules and/or to register, please check the NCAA Clearinghouse’s web page at and contact your School Counselor.

23 Schedule Changes The student registration process is one of the most important functions that a student performs each year. It determines the courses the school will offer, development of student scheduling, and how the school utilizes its staff. When a student completes the registration process, he/she enters into a contract with the school. LHS asks its students to be most careful and accurate in selecting their courses each year. Talk to upperclass students and teachers about your course selections. Read the LHS Program of Studies for course descriptions. The deadline for requesting course changes is June 1st The only schedule changes made during the school year will be for a failed class that must be repeated, a change in academic level, or a change based on the recommendation of the course teacher.
