A- angry On Ruby’s first day at the all white school a bunch of angry white parents were gathering outside of the school. tws3d.com nola.com

B- birth Ruby was born on September 8, 1954 in Tyler town, Mississippi. tws3d.com

C- chosen Ruby was one of the few that were chosen to take part of an important event. She was chosen to go all by herself in the first grade. Her parent were very proud of her. tws3d.com

D- death Ruby never died yet. She is still alive. tws3d.com

E- education Black children were not able to receive the same education as white children. tws3d.com

F- first grade Ruby was one of the 6 girls who got sent to a all white school. She went to one all by herself. She was in the first grade and hade no friends to play or learn with. But she still went. tws3d.com

G- god Ruby’s parents wanted her and her siblings to be close to god. They went to church every Sunday. tws3d.com

H- Henry Mrs. Henry was Ruby’s teacher. She was the new teacher at the school and agreed to teach Ruby. Ruby and Mrs. Henry sat side by side everyday. tws3d.com

P- prayer Everyday she said the same prayer before and after school about the people who hated her: Please, God, try to forgive those people, because even if they say those bad things, They don’t know what they’re doing. So you could forgive them, just like you did those folks a long time ago when they said terrible things about You. tws3d.com

R- racism Everyday Ruby had to walk past all the racist people. One women threatened to poison her. She could only eat food from home. Somebody took a black doll and put it in a wooden coffin. tws3d.com

S- surrounded Ruby was surrounded by police everyday she walked into school. She had to be because of the hateful whites that yelled and threw stuff at her. tws3d.com

T- two boys Later on two white boys came back to school to get education. White parents were mad but they did send their kids back to school. tws3d.com
