Reading Harcourt Reading Series… Reading stories are grouped thematically into clusters or anthologies Typically one story is covered per week Vocabulary words are given weekly Instruction occurs in large group settings and small ability groups

Social Studies Map Skills Economics Holidays and Traditions We have begun with community building activities. Morning Meetings occur daily.

Homework Homework will be sent home in homework folders Monday through Thursday One or two pages per night Sometimes corrections will be sent home.

Homework When children forget their homework, they can complete it at second recess or take it home the next night. Writing assignments can have errors. Math homework should be without mistakes. Homework should not take more than 20 minutes per night.

Birthdays Your child can bring in a treat Easy-to-serve Please drop it off in the morning if possible Summer birthdays can celebrate in June
