What is a Reasonable Budget? MBCA thinks $3.5 million is fair and affordable and should provide a stage 1 facility that will meet a variety of the community’s needs so will be well used by our community

What Facilities Do MBARC See Best Fit With Budget & Researched Community Needs? 1.A cool leisure pool is the number one stated need; 2.Including tots area in this and Learn to Swim water; 3.Next is a lap pool; 4.Moving water for kids (water-jet area); 5.Solar heating and shade for year-round water temperature control 6.Cafe, shade trees, grassy areas for relaxation, BBQ 7.On the wish list among other things are a movie screen and a dedicated LTS pool

What Changes Do We Recommend To Concept 2 Design To Achieve The Best $3.5m And Widest Possible Use Of The Facilities? 1.Add a leisure pool triangle (180m 2 area) on south side of lap pool; 2.Include tots area in this and use this pool for LTS; 3.Replace current old style tots pool with modern water-jets area; 4.Make shade cover the water area more; 5.Add solar heating for year-round pool temp control to maximise usage; 6.Magnesium water treatment plant; 7.Save up to $815,000 on Concept 2 to pay for the above spec.
