Husqvarna K 960 Rescue Saw Engine 2 Cycle Horsepower 6.1 Max RPM 9300 Weight ~23 lbs Blade 30 tip Carbide (14”) Fuel 50:1 (Tru Fuel)

Husqvarna K 960 Rescue Saw Daily Check Fuel (minimum ¾) No more than 3 carbide teeth are missing. Blade guard in good repair. Blade securely attached to saw. Blade shows no signs of cracks or other defects.

Husqvarna K 960 Rescue Saw Starting Procedures: Hold the saw firmly on the ground with the blade clear. (The cutting blade rotates when the engine is started) Press in the decompression valve. Decompression Valve

Husqvarna K 960 Rescue Saw Starting Procedures: Move the STOP switch to the left position. (Red) Slowly pull out the cord until you feel resistance, which are the starter pawls engaging. Quickly pull the cord. Do not pull the cord all of the way out or let go of the cord. Stop Switch

Husqvarna K 960 Rescue Saw After two pulls, pull out the choke and pull again. When engine starts, quickly apply full throttle to automatically disengage fast idle. To stop the saw, move the STOP switch to the right. Choke Fast Idle Button

Husqvarna K 960 Rescue Saw Operating Procedures: The K12 saw is set up with a carbide tipped rescue blade. This is the only saw that is authorized to be equipped with a carbide tip blade. The blade guard should be adjusted so that the rear section is flush with the work piece. This allows for debris to be collected by the guard and moved away from the user.

Husqvarna K 960 Rescue Saw Operating Procedures: Never use the Kickback zone of the blade for cutting. The kickback zone is the top outer quarter of the blade. Kickback Zone

Husqvarna K 960 Rescue Saw Operating Procedures: Keep good balance and firm grip on the saw. Apply the cutting blade at full speed, maintaining full speed until the cutting is completed. Apply pressure in line with the blade. Cutting thin and hard material (such as sheet metal) should be done in a forward direction for best control.

Husqvarna K 960 Rescue Saw Safety and Training with the K12 Saw: Only operators trained in the use of cutting with a rotary saw equipped with a carbide tipped blade shall be allowed to operate the rotary saw. Full PPE must be worn, including hearing protection. A full face shield shall be worn by the operator to protect the face from flying debris or a sudden kick back. An SCBA facepiece is appropriate.

Husqvarna K 960 Rescue Saw Safety and Training with the K12 Saw: Do not carry a running saw up a ladder. The blade should not be rotating when the saw is being carried. When moving to perform the cuts, stop the blade in the material being cut. The blade shall be inspected after each use. If more than 3 teeth are missing, the blade is out of service.
