Agenda Objectives Anticipatory Set Literature Circles Gallery Walk Closure Homework

Objectives Teachers will be able to work collaboratively in a literature circle, with various roles, to analyze a section of Mindset chapter 7 utilizing literature circle role sheets and select key points to share whole group. Teachers will be able to connect their literature circle work to their colleagues’ work and correlate key points across groups.

Anticipatory Set On word splash, circle five descriptors that represent YOU in the context of collaboration In your group, review the literature circle roles Reflect on your circled word splash descriptors and as a group discuss who is best suited for each role

Mindset Chapter 7 Individually complete literature circle role sheet for assigned section of chapter In a round robin share out your discoveries As a group, select two highlights from each member’s role sheet Write each highlight on large paper according to the following colors: Summarizer – Black Questioner – Green Connector – Blue Illustrator – attach drawing with wording in brown

Gallery Walk Review each poster from the other group(s) On note-taker, write three points that stand out to you from other section of the book

Closure Select a key point from note-taker and a key point from your role or group, write a statement of how they connect on the bottom of your note-taker.
