(02/27) – Manformation Jeans Day $1 Friday (03/02) – Smoothies are on sale - Read Across America day Sat. (03/03) – Saturday tutoring resumes NEXT WEEK: Tues. (03/06) – PBIS T-Shirt Day - Mable House Opening 7-8:30 If you are not eating, you must read something of your choice. HOMEROOM = SILENCE

Synthesis Posters First, turn in your completed “Dr. X Finds a Cure” packet (from the Friday before break) to the homework bin. Then, you will continue to work in your Literature Circle groups to: Complete your Synthesis Poster that follows the bullet points on #2 your Synthesis Poster handout. Keep this handout in your reading portfolio. You must first complete a rough draft on the printer paper provided before you will receive your poster paper. We will work on this poster in class each day, but it is due no later than the end of class TOMORROW! Yes, that’s a new date. Be sure to work diligently to get your work done and done well! 

Synthesis Posters Check your poster to see if you have included all of the necessary information, as listed on your synthesis poster paper (in your reading portfolio): Does your poster have: Interesting and thought-provoking questions? Insightful connections and/or predictions? Images and/or graphic organizers? Key quotes and interpretations of these quotes? Summarized statements about the novel? A Title? If any of these items are missing, ADD THEM!!! This poster is due no later than the end of class TOMORROW! Yes, that’s a new date. Be sure to work diligently to get your work done and done well! 

Standard: ELASE6RL1 – Cite textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text. Learning Targets: Identify claims. Elect your position on these claims. Support your claim with logical reasoning and relevant evidence.

Novel Studies 3rd/6th – “Maniac Magee” – Ch (p. ??) As we read, have your double-entry journal (p. 109) out and be ready to write down the page number of a passage that stands out to you. You can come back and write the passage down later, as long as you know which page to revisit. If you need additional double-entry pages, they are available on the front table. Add them beginning on page 111 and continue in order (pages 112, 113, 114, etc.). DOUBLE-ENTRY JOURNAL CHECK – WED.!
