Cartooning and animation technology Traditional animation was the process used for most animated films of the 20th century. The individual frames of a traditionally animated film are photographs of drawings, which are first drawn on paper. To create the illusion of movement, each drawing is slightly different from the one before it.

Different type of animation The three general types of Animation are: 1.) Cel Animation Drawings are made on transparent sheets then they will be placed on top of each other to combine characters and backgrounds 2.) Stop Motion Animation A model or puppet, to shot a frame at a time, with tiny changes in position being made between each frame 3.) Computer Animation Computers can be used to entirely create the shapes and colours of animated action, or they can be used to enhance hand-drawn characters.

Well know cartoon characters Mickey mouse- Mickey mouse is the best known character and have been going on since 1928 and was created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks at the Walt Disney studios. Tom and Jerry-is an American series of animated cartoon films created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbara and the cartoon ran between 1947 to 1952. SpongeBob squarepants- is an American animated television series, created by Marine Biologist and Stephen Hillenburg. It started in 1999 and is still running today.

Well known animated film studios Walt Disney Animation Studios- is an American animation studio Famous House of Animation- Is and Indian animation studio Pixar- is an American computer animation film studio.

Famous animators Emile cohl: French caricaturist of the largely forgotten incoherent movement, cartoonist and animator. j.stuat blackton: was an Anglo-American film producer of the silent era, the founder of Vitagraph studios among the first filmmakers to use the techniques of stop motion and drawn animation.

Famous animators ub iwaks: winning American animator, cartoonist, character designer, inventor, creator of Mickey mouse. Nick park: an English filmmaker of stop motion animation best known as the creator of Wallace and grommet and Shaun the sheep.
