More Big Glory

In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up

…and the train of his robe filled the temple

Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew

And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!”

And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke

And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!”

Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar

And he touched my mouth and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for”

And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?”

Then I said, “Here I am! Send me” - Isaiah 6:1-8

Sin is… Sin destroys If I love you, I don't celebrate The things that destroy you I seek to rescue you

God became big And Isaiah confessed his sin The life of faith is one of Continual repentance

God becomes Big Confession Forgiveness by Grace

Why so excited?

When God becomes big And we discover what sin is We experience real and Life-changing forgiveness We ache for people to know

He discovered his Destiny What he was designed for

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders…

And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace - 9:6

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel - 7:14

…they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint - 40:31

God is greater Than Buddy Jesus And far more offensive To a comfortable Christian life

God changes me As I follow and obey by faith I know sin destroys And I care about people Made in God's image

When God becomes Big I begin to be sent So that he'll be glorified And others might know This is my purpose and destiny

Your next step: Search your heart and confess Answer the call Because you know sin destroys And God forgives

As a church We're not about filling a building But proclaiming a King Who is bigger than they know And longs to forgive
