Project objectives Broad to define, develop and put into place a framework for meeting quality standards in research in SEE region To create a scientific network between researchers of the region and those abroad To support young scientists and their research projects at the PCUs in order to prevent brain- drain To contribute to the competitiveness of the national innovation systems

Project objectives Specific Establishing or fostering QA systems in research: research plan, evaluation assessment, information feedback, internationalization of research Setting up the research management services and quality assurance of the services Defining the best structure for research for early stage researchers

Project objectives Specific Assessment of the current situation at PCUs in order to design a tailor-made approach for the PCUs Defining the catalogue of criteria that will foster and ensure quality in research I ntroduce the role of Quality in research officer and cooperation with RTD SC managers Q uality plan implementation Launching the Pilot Project call for Young Scientific researchers to support infrastructure, literature, mobility

Work packages WP 1- As-is situation assessment and analysis (self-assessment, coordination, compilation) WP 2-Develpopment of quality standards in research (experts from SEE and EU to define a catalogue, guidelines for quality in research comprising the procedures, actors, indicators and monitoring

Work packages WP 3- Installation of Quality-in officer and connection with RTD managers (existing situation best practice, links among the units, positioning within the hierarchy, WP 4- Adoption and publishing of standards (adoption of the standards by Senat, putting in PCUs’regulations) WP 5- Launching a Pilot project for Young scientific researchers

Work packages (launching of commonly financed and coordinated pilot call to finance: infrastructure, literature, mobility, defining of criteria for participation and evaluation. 10 YSR granted per PCU WP 6- Quality control plan defined WP 7- Regular self-assessment of the partners to be able to perform quality in research

Target groups - Academic staff, researchers of different fields of study from PCUs. -University management -Early stage researchers -Public and political stakeholders
