BBC One Ident Research

BBC Eastenders Ident This Ident appeals to me because I think it is good how they use a show of theirs as there Ident. It appeals to me because the way in which they use the show Eastenders to create an Ident. The image is showing the characters from Eastenders meeting together looking at something, we then see a birds eye view of Albert Square. In the first shot we see a character in a mid long shot, he is positioned to the right of the screen so that we can see the Albert Square sign. The colours in this Ident don’t stand out as much as other Idents because it is using a program from their channel, therefore instead of using bright colours they are using colours from the show. We see a lot of long shots of characters, but we also see close ups. They use long shots to more than one person and the close ups are showing only one person. They also use tracking because it reinforces the shock on the characters face. We then see a master shot which is showing everyone in the shot. The characters in the shot looked shocked because they are looking at where the BBC One sign is. We know this because if you watch the show then you will know where things are so can tell what they are looking at.

BBC Eastenders Ident The Eastenders Ident doesn’t change from the basic BBC Ident as they still have the circle in the middle with the words BBC One over the top of it. They also have made the “O” in the word one in the middle of the circle. BBC One do this with all there Idents because they stick to their history as the first Idents had globes in, and they have been evolving ever since then. As you can see in the bottom right they have also changed the way in which they write BBC One. Now they write BBC One with the BBC in small boxes and have it raised so it is in line with the one, and they now use the word One instead of the number 1. They may of done this because the word One have in the Eastenders Ident. has a circle in and they want to use that like they

The History Of BBC Idents In BBC Idents they have always had the same basic idea and that is the circular globe with the text BBC 1. As you can see right from the first picture that there is some sort of rounded shape, this may not be the globe just yet but it is still round, then the second picture comes along and this starts the globe off, as you can see it is very dull and basic as it is black and white, as there is no colour TVs yet but they still have the text as well. Once colour TVs come in they make new Idents and they have gone with blue and yellow. The globe is still in the middle of the screen and they have used yellow to show the countries flat out behind the globe, the BBC 1 is still there in big bold white letters which stands out as they are trying to advertise there company. They don’t change much to the next Ident, the colours have changed and a bit of the background has also changed but the rest in the same, and they have changed the text to, two lines making up the BBC 1 sign. And finally when we reach the 2000s we see a bit more colour and technology involved, the globe is blue and gold with t he text gold as well. Then they start to make Idents for certain shows like the this to show that is will be on next. Eastenders Ident, they do
