New Terms you Might Hear…. Trimester- a 12 week schedule where one would take 5 classes worth ½ credit each. A & B - A is the first part of a 1 credit class, B is the second part. A &/or B- You may choose to take A or B as a ½ credit elective or both as a 1 credit C – Most AP, and some other core classes require a third trimester. This will be called “C” part of a class. Singleton Class/Passion Class- A ½ credit elective that does not have a B part. Trimester 1,2 and 3 – Trimester labels

What Questions do you Have About Trimester????? I’m going to answer ten common questions about Trimesters. Remember to continue to jot down questions you have. We’ll collect these at the end of the presentation.

Common Questions about Trimesters Q1 –Can I graduate early? A1- No, you will have to be enrolled 12 trimesters to graduate. Q2- Will I be able to co-op? A2- Yes, It should be easier to get in requirements and fit it into your schedule with more flexiblity.

Common Questions about Trimesters Q3- Will we have a final at the end of each trimester? A3- Yes, but the good news is that it will cover half as much. Q4- If I fail the first part of a class, do I have to retake it before taking the second half? A4- Sometimes, depending on the class requirements.

Common Questions about Trimesters Q5- How will my grade be determined? A5- You will get an individual grade for each trimester. You must complete Part A and B to receive a complete core class credit.

Common Questions about Trimesters Q6- Will some classes be separated by a trimester? A6- That's possible if you are wanting a class that is only offered second trimester, but the majority will be first/ second or second/third trimester. Q7- Will I have the same teacher for both A and B of a class? A7- Most of the time, but there may be exceptions.

Common Questions about Trimesters Q8- How long will A.P. classes last? A8- Most AP classes will last all year. They will be A/B/C classes and you will have the same teacher. Q9- How many credits will I get for AP? A9- You will get 1 ½ credits for the three trimesters.

Common Questions about Trimesters Q10- How will Fall Break, Spring Break, and Christmas Break be affected? A10- The overall school calendar will remain the same, which will give us a major break in each trimester. Christmas break will fall half way during second trimester.

How will I register for classes? 1. You will complete a tentative schedule today. 2.We have already entered your core classes based on your needs so that you can concentrate on choosing your electives and alternate choices. 3.You will register On-line in our computer labs one day between April 30 th and May 7th. (We will let you know when and where.) 4.You will pick up your schedule at the end of the summer as usual.

What questions do you STILL have???? Teachers- Collect questions that have not been answered already and send them to the office. We’ll answer new questions over the intercom later.

Thanks and Stay Tuned for a Commercial Message!!
