The Preamble WE THE PEOPLE of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
We, the people of the United States
All the citizens of the United States
in order to form a more perfect Union,
To come together and make things better for everyone who lives in our country
Establish Justice
To make things fair for all people
insure domestic Tranquility,
To make sure we can all have a good life and get along with one another
Provide for the common defense,
To provide protection to everyone
Promote general welfare,
To make life good for everybody by providing food, shelter, and safety
And secure the blessings of Liberty
To protect our rights and freedoms and not let anyone take them away
To ourselves and our posterity,
For ourselves and all our children and their children and every generation to come
Do ordain and establish this Constitution
To approve of and begin to follow
For the United States of America.
