English Department Speech Speech involves the study and application of the basic principles and techniques of effective communication, which are often lost arts in today's technology-centered society. Students enrolled in speech class learn to become more proficient communicators in all four facets of language arts - reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Theatre Arts Students enrolled in Theatre Arts learn and apply basic concepts related to the theatre, read and analyze scripts, create theatre pieces, and develop acting skills. (Fine Arts credit) Technical Theatre Students enrolled in Technical Theatre actively engage in the processes of designing, building, managing, and implementing the technical aspects of a production.
