4 Diploma Tracks at Plainfield High School
All students will graduate with one or more of these State of Indiana diplomas: Core 40 All students in the class of 2022 will likely be required to take a Graduation Qualifying Exam in order to graduate with a Plainfield High School diploma. Details on that exam are forthcoming. Core 40 with Academic Honors Core 40 with Technical Honors

47 Total Credits Required Minimum GPA of 2.7 Semester grades of “C-” or higher Complete all Core 40 diploma requirements, plus: Other additional requirements as listed in the Rising Freshmen Pre- Enrollment Packet Earn 6 college credits through dual credit courses Earn 6 high school credits from the state’s approved College and Career Pathway courses OR Earn a State or Industry Approved Certification

SCHEDULING PROCESS December 12th -13th High school counselors present to 8th grade students and their parents 8th Grade Parent Night 6:00PM (PHS auditorium) December 12th -21st Mr. Woodson meets individually with 8th grade students to finalize course selections December 15th& 18th High school counselors available for questions during 8th grade lunches December 21st Course selection forms are due to the middle school math teachers January 17th High school counselors facilitate 8th grade students entering course selections into PowerSchool during assigned computer lab sessions April 27th All 9th grade course requests are considered final and no changes can be made

Honors Accelerated course receiving a Tier I or Tier II grade weight Dual Credit (DC) Courses that earn both high school and college credit; most dual credit courses receive a Tier I grade weight Advanced Placement College level course taken in (AP) high school; college credits earned via AP exams taken at the end of the course; All AP courses receive a Tier II grade weight

All freshmen must complete 2 credits of Math Algebra I F – 2520S Select if currently enrolled in 8th grade Math Geometry F – 2532S in Algebra I; “C+” or higher in both semesters required Algebra II Honors* 2522FH – 2522SH in Geometry; “B-” or higher Algebra II F – 2522S in Geometry, but not earning at least a “B-” or higher

Local Requirement (Two of the following courses are required for graduation) Preparing for College & Careers 5394 Digital Applications & Responsibility 4528 PLTW: Intro to Engineering Design 4812DF-4812DS Personal Financial Responsibility (only available to juniors & seniors) If you are taking Computer Graphics in 8th grade, you will fulfill one of your Local Requirements for graduation, and will only need to complete one more course while in high school.

Please sign-up for PE I and/or PE II.**

22 Indiana Online Academy (IOA)
2018 Summer Session: June 5th – July 20th Summer School is FREE! Students can take up to 2 courses Registration will begin in January ( Students must complete an Online Coursework Approval Form (available in January) AND register on IOA’s website If you FAIL or do not complete the course you will get an ‘F’ on your PHS transcript Many students utilize IOA to earn credit in PE I, PE II, & Health. Students can also repeat courses via IOA in an effort to earn a higher grade!
