Looking at the Data Using Des Carte

See what your students RIT ranges are: Instructional Resources Class By RITClass By RIT Then click on the subject area Then click on goal (computation, algebra, etc.) Or you can click on individual students –Show example if needed

Look at RIT ranges by Subject Area

Look at RIT ranges by individual categories in each subject

Or if you know the RIT and want to go straight to Des Carte

Select the subject and goal, then RIT.

After selecting the RIT, objectives will appear.

What do you do with the data? Once you have the RIT… Choose the measurement topic (goal) –Comprehension, informational text, narrative text, word recognition/word study

Putting it together… 5 th gradelowest area2 nd lowest objective Word recognition/word study (looking at range) Jade B 198 DuJuan C 188 word rec/word study ( ) word rec/word study ( ) informational text ( ) informational text ( )  Name the root or base word found within the larger word.  Chose the prefix that when added to a word best completes a given statement  Select the appropriate homophone to complete the sentence (they’re, their, there)  Identify synonyms  Identify antonyms

How to choose group RIT range If you don’t know the kids start in the middle. Use corrections and extensions to reach all students in your group. As you see them use FAP (formative assessment process) to adjust. If they are somewhat together teach to the high (should always be rigorous). You can always scoop the other ones up.
