2 Possible Volunteer Actions  Contact your state and national legislators urging them to take action to improve competitiveness  Organize activities for local youth and teachers aimed at improving math and science programs for youth; get the word out on resources such as tryengineering.org and DesignSquad; IEEE-USA has a career brochure to help you with this  Organize town hall meetings to get the competitiveness message out  Provide easily accessible workshops and tutorials for local engineers on technical and career development topics

3 Take Personal Responsibility For Your Own Competitiveness Constantly seek new knowledge and tools that will help you be a better engineer tomorrow Ensure that your contributions are valuable to your employer Support your colleagues and fellow employees in their endeavors
