JACKSON HEIGHTS MIDDLE SCHOOL PEP RALLY SPONSORED BY: PBS

JHMS YOU ARE LISTENING TO: LAND OF 1000 DANCES

WELCOME BOBCAT NATION! YOUR PRINCIPAL MS. MANSUR

JHMS CHORUS SINGS OUR NATIONAL ANTHEM

JHMS DANCE TEAM

JHMS CHEER TEAM

WHY ARE WE HAVING A PEP RALLY? WE WANTED TO SHOWCASE SOME OF THE GREAT THINGS THAT HAPPEN EVERYDAY AT JHMS. THANK YOU, BAND, CHORUS, DANCE, AND CHEER TEAMS FOR SHOWCASING YOUR TALENTS TODAY! WE ALSO WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW HOW YOU CAN EARN FREE REWARDS JUST BY DOING THE RIGHT THINGS AT SCHOOL!

WHAT ARE WE EXPECTED TO DO? AT JHMS WE ARE A BOBCAT NATION WITH EXPECTATIONS!  BOBCATS ARE RESPONSIBLE!  BOBCATS ARE RESPECTFUL!  BOBCATS ARE READY!

WHAT ARE SOME EXAMPLES OF POSITIVE BEHAVIOR CHOICES? EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBLE BEHAVIORS ARE: WE HAVE OUR HOMEWORK AND CLASS ASSIGNMENTS COMPLETED AND TURNED IN. EXAMPLES OF RESPECTFUL BEHAVIORS ARE: WE SAY KIND WORDS TO EACH OTHER AND SAY PLEASE AND THANK YOU. EXAMPLES OF READY BEHAVIORS ARE: WE ARE ON TIME AND READY WITH MATERIALS AND WE BEGIN WORKING WHEN THE BELL RINGS. THESE ARE ONLY EXAMPLES AND ARE NOT THE ONLY POSITIVE BEHAVIORS WE WILL REWARD.

HOW WILL THE BOBCAT NATION EARN REWARDS? WHEN YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE, RESPECTFUL, AND READY IN CLASS AND AROUND CAMPUS YOU CAN EARN A CAT TAG FOR YOUR POSITIVE BEHAVIOR CHOICES. WE ARE NOW USING STICKERS, CALLED CAT TAGS INSTEAD OF BOBCAT BUCKS. THERE ARE SEVERAL BLANK PAGES IN THE BACK OF YOUR PLANNER WHERE YOU WILL PUT YOUR CAT TAGS. IF YOU LOST YOUR PLANNER, PBS HAS DESIGNED A REPLACEMENT PLANNER TO USE. IF YOU EARN A CAT TAG, BUT DO NOT HAVE YOUR PLANNER WITH YOU – NO TAG.

WHAT CAN WE PURCHASE WITH OUR CAT TAGS? SNACK CART (5 CAT TAG) OPEN GYM DURING HOMEROOM (10 CAT TAGS) DOUGHNUT BREAKFAST DURING HOMEROOM (10 CAT TAGS) BOOK/MAGAZINE CART (10 CAT TAGS) PURCHASE TICKETS BIGGER SCHOOL EVENT’S EVERY NINE WEEKS (20 CAT TAGS)

WHICH GRADE LEVEL WILL WIN THE SPIRIT STICK? WE WILL HAVE A GRADE LEVEL COMPETITION TO SEE WHICH GRADE LEVEL HAD THE MOST RESPONSIBLE, RESPECTFUL, AND READY BEHAVIOR. EACH GRADE LEVEL WILL COMPETE FOR THE NEXT WEEK TO SEE WHO WILL EARN THE MOST CAT TAGS. THE CAT TAGS WILL BE CALCULATED IN HOMEROOM NEXT WEDNESDAY! IF YOUR GRADE LEVEL WINS, YOUR GRADE LEVEL WILL EARN CONTROL OF THE SPIRIT STICK, BRAGGING RIGHTS, A VISIT DURING LUNCH FROM OUR BOBCAT MASCOT, AND THERE WILL BE A PHOTO OPPORTUNITY AREA SET UP TO TAKE PICTURES WITH THE SPIRIT STICK. YOU WILL BE ABLE TO UPLOAD THE PICTURES TO OUR JHMS SOCIAL MEDIA PAGES.

ADMINISTRATION: CLOSING STATEMENT AND EXIT INSTRUCTIONS BOBCAT NATION EXPECTATIONS… BE RESPONSIBLE! BE RESPECTFUL! BE READY!
