1 Welcome to 4th Grade

3 4th day and beyond - highest grade will be a 50.
Daily Homework All homework assignments are DUE the following day at the BEGINNING of the class period or they will be considered LATE! 1 day late = 11 points off 2 days late = 22 points 3 days late = 33 points 4th day and beyond - highest grade will be a 50.

4 School Times Every morning students will go to the gym for morning assembly. Students are counted tardy if they are not in class by 7:55 am.

5 Planners, Conduct Cards, & Friday Folders
All students must have a student planner. Student planners can be purchased at the front office. It is VERY important that the planner is at school everyday. Students will copy all assignments for the day in the planner. Please check for work! Each student will also have a conduct card. This will need to be signed or initialed every day. Every Friday your child will take home a “Friday Folder” consisting of graded papers, newsletter, etc. Please go through this and return the folder on Monday.

6 Classroom Rules & Consequences
Be Responsible – turn in homework when due. Be Respectful – respect peers and teachers/staff at all times. Be Ready – have all materials necessary for each class. CONSEQUENCES: Warning. Conduct mark and loss of Class Dojo point. Conduct mark & loss of privileges. Conduct mark, loss of privileges, & parent contact.

7 Classroom Newsletter & Website
Each teacher has a classroom website. On the class website, you will be able to find the following things: 1) Your child’s daily schedule 2) Team newsletter 3) Topic of study for the week 4) Due dates for projects 5) Dates of upcoming events 6) Helpful links for students and parents Every Friday a classroom newsletter will go home in your child’s Friday Folder. This will announce upcoming projects, events, activities, tests, or any special needs for the classroom.

8 Parties/Snacks * Birthday treats must be store bought with ingredient label attached. * Birthday treats will be passed out at the very end of the day. * Snacks must be nut free, peanut free, and peanut butter free.

9 Incentives/Rewards Green Party- Each 9 weeks, students who maintained the following colors will earn an extra recess or privilege: At least 7 week of green marks No more than 2 yellow marks No red marks

10 STAAR Testing Dates Round 1: Round 2: April 10th – 4th – Writing
5th – Math April 11th – 5th – Reading Round 2: May 14th – 4th – Math 5th – Math Re-Test May 15th – 4th – Reading 5th – Reading Re-Test May 16th – 5th – Science Test

11 Corrections Policy & Late Papers
If a student fails an assignment, the student must earn the right to correct the assignment by attending a tutorial session before/after school with the teacher for content review. The maximum grade on a late corrected assignment is 70 minus the number of points deducted for the late penalty.

13 Absences & Make-up Work
For each day a student is absent they have one day to make up the work assigned. If a student returns to school on the day a test is scheduled and the student missed important information, the student will be given the opportunity for remediation before testing.

14 Class Dojo Each child will begin his/her day on 3 “Ready to Learn” points. The max they can earn for the day is 6 points. Point Scale: 6 Role Model 5 Super Student 4 Excellent Effort 3 Ready to Learn 2 Warning 1 Teacher Choice 0 Parent Contact Messenger on Dojo can also be used to send your teacher a message. We would like all parents to join and access their child’s account. If you need a copy of your access code to join, please ask your child’s teacher.
