Learning Environments Elementary Current Challenges – Special Education students are receiving some services in hallways and cafeteria – Library space is limited due to computers – Music classroom causes and experiences a lot of noise problems Proposed Solution – Multipurpose instructional spaces and additional classrooms would allow space for personalized instruction – New computer classroom would free up space in the library – Renovations to the current music room would improve acoustics in and out of the room

Safety and Security - Elementary Current Challenges – Area serving as primary storm shelter holds 1/3 of students and staff – Remaining students take shelter in hallway or classrooms with windows Proposed Solution – Three new multipurpose instructional spaces/storm shelter areas will be added to North side of the gym that will be large enough for all students and staff

Safety and Security – Junior/Senior High Current Challenges – Storm shelter space in the High School is adjacent to chemical storage – Storm shelter space in Junior High has some exposure to glass – Rigging in auditorium is original to building and causes concern Proposed Solution – Some spaces in new Activity Center will be designed as Storm Shelters – Existing Boys Locker Rooms will be renovated to serve as Storm Shelters – Rigging in auditorium and curtains will be replaced

Safety and Security – Junior/Senior High Current Challenges – High School Gymnasium is unsafe for athletes and patrons – Student athletes are practicing late in the evening and early in the morning due to lack of usable gym space for practices Proposed Solution – New Activity Center that is safer for athletes and patrons – New Activity Center includes expanded practice areas which will eliminate the need for early and late practices after school

Finance Information $26.4 Million projected cost 30 year bonds mill increase – $100,000 home – $ per year or $14.22 per month – *160 acres dryland – approx $150 per year or $12.47 per month
