cb Recap – Project Prioritization Focused timeline The board requested the Facilities Advisory Committee (FAC) to prioritize possible projects and make recommendations to the board A focused timeline was developed and reviewed by the board – It includes five meetings of the FAC and board combined

3 Two meetings of the FAC have been scheduled – Nov 9th and December 1
The committee’s mission The FAC was provided the following direction: Review board approved criteria matrix (Health and Safety, Equity, Student Achievement, Community Benefit, Leverage Additional Funding) Use criteria matrix to analyze staff projects within Board approved categories (Infrastructure upgrades, Facility upgrades, Athletic facilities, Instructional facilities) Receive staff list of potential projects with initial cost estimates Use this criteria to draft projects in priority order for board review and adoption Two meetings of the FAC have been scheduled – Nov 9th and December 1

9 FAC prioritization The FAC prioritized the following: Infrastructure
Address ADA access upgrades within projects Repair structural / corrosion damage *Replace old water/sewer lines (if critical for health and safety) *Electrical (if critical for health and safety) Athletics Overall not as high a category as the others *Consideration for gym at Marina High if part of a larger school vision

10 FAC prioritization The FAC prioritized the following:
Facility and classroom upgrades Replace deteriorated portables Modernize early childhood centers *Replace Tier 1/high priority play structures if critical for health and safety Instructional updates – includes CTE Create 21st Century Collaborative Classrooms – supporting district Secondary Initiative Upgrade CTE facilities * Consideration for science labs if part of district initiatives

11 Next steps: Project Prioritization Board to review on November 15
Based on Board Direction, staff to prepare an initial list of proposed projects. FAC to reconvene on December 1 to develop project prioritization list and/or recommendation Board to discuss draft list on December 6 Possible board action on December 13 Staff are completing final elements of the financing for possible pricing and sale in late November or early December
