January 25, 2009Logistics-Zisman3 Lunch Today We will be bringing in sandwiches, salad, and drinks for those who ordered them (38 people) —there will be a limited number of vegetarian sandwiches for those who desire this option —if you ordered lunch, please pay ($10) either to me or Wes Tabler at the morning break o please note that the cost of the order comes from my personal funds, not lab funds –even if you have changed your mind, payment is due —if you choose to go off-site, you will need to provide your own transportation o and be back here at 13:30 for the afternoon session

January 25, 2009Logistics-Zisman4 Working Dinner (1) The banquet will be at Cafe Venezia, 1799 University Avenue near Grant —street parking is possible, but not easy —dinner will begin at 19:00 and end at about 21:00 o the bus will return people to the Hilton, and to downtown Berkeley if they do not wish to walk

January 25, 2009Logistics-Zisman5 Working Dinner (2) Menu —Appetizer: Soup or Salad [choice] —Main Course: Chicken Fettuccine, Linguine Bolognese, or vegetarian Ravioli [choice] —Dessert: Torta Gelato or Almond Torte [choice] o also, 2 glasses of house wine and coffee are included in the price –if additional beverages are desired, please order these yourself and pay for them separately —please pay either Wes or me ($50) if you have signed up to go o this cost too is from my personal funds, so, if you signed up, payment is required, even if you change your mind —Wes and I will have a list of who ordered what and will provide color- coded tickets to simplify serving

January 25, 2009Logistics-Zisman6 Working Dinner (3) In order to justify the bus transportation to and from the restaurant on Tuesday, it is necessary to have a “working dinner” —there will be a brief discussion after dinner that satisfies this requirement o Steve Geer will present his view of “The Path to a Muon Collider” –we will be in a public area, not a private room, so acoustics will be far from ideal –it will be okay to ask some questions or make (relevant) comments during the talk  more detailed discussion should await the wrap-up session on Wednesday

January 25, 2009Logistics-Zisman7 Contact Information Administrative —primary: Wes Tabler (or 6710 from a Lab phone) —secondary: Martha Condon (or 7135 from a Lab phone) o they can help with travel issues, transportation, and the like Scientific —primary: Mike Zisman (pager: ; cell: ) o any issue requiring a local person —secondary: Derun Li Internet —Visitor or Visitor-A should work (no key required) —uploads at Welcome —we hope you have a pleasant stay in the area and will do what we can to ensure that
