What is Alzheimer’s Disease This is a progressive degenerating disease which means that it worsens over time. The estimated number of people in America that have Alzheimer’s disease is 5.2 million. The disease damages nerves in the brain that are vital for memory and other abilities. This affects the memory, judgment, and thinking which can hinder a persons ability to handle day-to- day activities.

Early signs of Alzheimer’s Forgetting names of people who are close to you Forgetting recent experiences Misplacing things or putting them in the wrong spots Having mood swings or quickly changing emotions Non-active or losing interest in activities you enjoyed

Patients with mild Alzheimer’s Have memory loss or forgetfulness Trouble with naming commonly used items Repeatedly ask the same questions Wander off easily Lose in activities they once liked to do
